Challenges for the industrialization of the cold spray process
The 31st Cold Spray Club meeting was held in Munich and Augsburg Germany, on the theme “Challenges for the industrialization of the cold spray process”. Local organization was assured by Ismail Ünsal (Fraunhofer IGCV), Steffen Beyer (Ariane Group) and Sascha Bernhardt (Impact Innovations). A warm thanks to them! Nearly 80 members registered to the event, marking a record in the number of participants.
The meeting took two complete days. In the first day, a bus took us to Fraunhofer IGCV in Augsburg, where three keynote talks were presented, followed by a visit of the brand new laboratories of Fraunhofer IGCV. After lunch, the bus drove to Rattenirchen, a small village at the west of Munich, where Impact Innovations is located. We had the chance of visiting the headquarters of the company, before going back to Ottobrunn (near Munich). A social dinner was then organized in the city center, at the famous Hofbräuhaus. The second day was dedicated to the technical program and was hosted at the Ariane Group – Airbus site in Ottobrunn. After a welcome coffee, 11 presentations were given by speakers of various nationalities.
