20 years of Cold Spray Club
The Club celebrated its 20th anniversary in the beautiful and sunny Gallipoli, in Southern Italy. Besides a rich technical program of two full days, participants could take advantage of the warm sea nearby and of the social program we have organized, which allowed discovering the cities of Gallipoli, Otranto and Lecce. Given the feedbacks from the participants, we are thinking of proposing regularly (every 2 years maybe) this type of event.
The local organization was assured by Alessio Silvello (CPT, Barcelona, Spain) and Patrizio Lomonaco (Cold Spray Club). A warm thanks to them! Nearly 60 members registered to the event.
The whole morning of the second day was dedicated to the question of Normalisation and Standardisation. An urgent need for norms and standards for the cold spray process has been expressed by numerous members, to foster and ease in particular industrial applications in several sectors. Many different questions arise (where to start? the powder? cold spray systems? what is the role of diagnostics? …), but one thing was clear to everyone: the Cold Spray Club is a good place to discuss about that. So, we decided collectively to create a work group for continuing those discussions online. We have a new email address dedicated to this topic: To be followed very soon…
